The COS Crossbody Bag is Back In Stock In Loads Of New Colours

February 2024 · 3 minute read

The COS crossbody bag has been the most-wanted high street bag of the past few seasons. Fact. It comes in close tie with the Uniqlo crossbody bag (we're sensing a theme here), but the sleek appeal of COS' leather iteration just takes it. The good news? Its finally back in stock, with a brand new silvery shade just in time for those autumnal nights out on the town.

The metallic version of this iconic COS crossbody bag is sure to become an instant classic. Perfect for throwing on with an all-black outfit, an LBD or your favourite new top and jeans combo, this bag is destined to become your go-to accessory for late night events of all kinds — and we can guarantee you'll see a few of them this New Year's Eve.

Earlier this year, the famous bag had another update for spring, when COS dropped loads of new colours - like beige, red and navy blue nylon - and honestly, we're still obsessed with all of them, especially the oh so autumnal dark brown.

The COS bag's journey to stardom is a familiar one.

Every once-in-a-while, a high-street staple goes viral. Case in point: the Arket puffer coat, the & Other Stories striped jumper and the COS wide-leg trousers. The one thing they all have in common? They look endlessly more expensive than they actually are (designer, in fact), and they're all so timeless that we'd be willing to bet our homes on the fact you'll still be wearing them in three years time. Talk about cost per wear.

The understated silhouette that is the COS crossbody bag fits that bill. Reminiscent of The Row's famed banana bag, it boasts a slouchy crescent shape and fits a surprising amount inside it. The strap is chunky, the zip is hidden beneath a leather slip and it goes with literally everything. Slung over some jeans, a white t-shirt and a blazer is our favourite way to wear it - especially when we need hands-free roaming at the shops - but it also works over trench coats, wool coats, duvet coats…the lot. Seriously, you can't fault it.

By way of a little more context, the bag first dropped a while back in black, and sold out within a matter of weeks. Later, the Scandi high street stalwart dropped a plethora of new colourways, from cream and orange chocolate brown – and a bright blue iteration which we died over. Once again, the bag sold out – and fashion fans were left reeling.

Since then, countless editors have jumped on the bandwagon, unsurprisingly, and influencers aplenty have been busy showcasing the versatility of the style when they can get their hands on one. Just take a scroll down the feeds of the likes of Marisa Martins and Alexis Foreman for proof. Marisa styled hers with a pair of high-waisted tailored trousers, some knitwear and an oversized blazer for ultimate off-duty chic, while Alexis kept things even cooler in a sweatshirt and joggers tracksuit/loungewear combo.

Luckily we've been given another chance to pick up what could possibly be the most versatile bag ever, but it won't be for long, of course. We're making a beeline for the lime green and metallic blue for a welcomed pop of colour to our otherwise monochrome ‘fits at the mo. You know what to do, people. You know what to do.
