The Argentina U20 team lost 1-0 vs. Colombia and do not qualify for the 2023 U20 World Cup.

Argentina lost their opening match and their last match at the Sudamericano as Javier Mascherano’s team were eliminated. Mascherano put out a different eleven from the one which won 1-0 vs. Peru and while the team appeared to have played better, they couldn’t score.

With the score at 0-0, it was an effort from outside of the penalty area as the ball was blundered by Herrera, the goalkeeper and Colombia got their only goal of the match. Argentina were unable to score despite seeing much of the ball in the match.

The Sudamericano serves as a qualifier for the 2023 U20 World Cup and the 2023 Pan American games.
